Loaded Smashed Potatoes on the Grill
Crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavour — these loaded smashed potatoes are perfect as a hearty snack, side, or even a full meal while camping!
Ingredients:
- 1.5–2 lbs mini potatoes (cut in half) or large potatoes (cut into thick slices, no need to peel)
- Melted coconut oil (for brushing)
- A Spice Affair® GPS blend (for seasoning)
- A Spice Affair® Bacon Loaded Potato blend
- 1 lb ground beef
- A Spice Affair® Butcher’s Secret blend
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- A Spice Affair® Caramelized Onion blend
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
For the Everything Onion Dip:
- 1 cup mayo, sour cream, or Greek yogurt (or a mix)
- 1 tbsp A Spice Affair® Everything Onion Dip blend
Instructions:
- Prep the Potatoes:
Steam or parboil the potatoes until just fork-tender. - Season & Smash:
Preheat your grill and place on a BBQ mat or greased foil on a baking tray. Brush it with melted coconut oil.
Arrange the potatoes cut side down. Sprinkle generously with Bacon Loaded Potato blend.
Smash each potato gently with a spatula or flipper. Brush the tops with more melted coconut oil. - Grill:
Grill the smashed potatoes until they’re golden and crispy — about 10–15 minutes, depending on your grill. - Cook the Beef & Veggies:
While the potatoes cook, sauté the ground beef with GPS and Butcher’s Secret.
In a separate pan, sauté the onions and mushrooms with the Caramelized Onion blend until golden. - Assemble:
Top the crispy smashed potatoes with the cooked beef, sautéed veggies, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Return to the grill until the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Make the Dip:
Stir 1 tbsp of Everything Onion Dip blend into 1 cup of your base (mayo, sour cream, or Greek yogurt).
Let rest for 5 minutes to allow the flavours to bloom. - Serve:
Drizzle or dollop the Everything Onion Dip on top and dig in!
